Volcanic panic strikes again!

Volcanic panic strikes again!

Plus ca change, eh? Save a few airports in Scotland, British airspace remains open following the eruption of another Icelandic volcano, but that hasn't stopped HP from finding an opportunity to big up remote working and video conferencing.

Turns out that HP's visual collaboration Halo telepresence studios are now 'available' (are they not always technically available?) to customers affected by the latest ash cloud in, gosh, 36 countries.

Note that the Met Office's latest forecast shows the cloud currently affecting the Highlands, as well as the dangerously overpopulated Arctic island of Svalbard and Novaya Zemlya, which was irradiated by the Soviets in the 60s...

The facilities are being opened on a first-come first-served basis, and I assume the burden of proof will be on the end-users to provide some sort of evidence that their plans have been disrupted. A clogged jet engine, maybe...

Personally, if I had access to a telepresence studio, I'd be thinking of upping the prices right about now. HP's last set of results were pretty poor, after all; take a tip from us, Leo, charge the punters double!
