Kazerounian to exit Stone Group

Sam Kazerounian, founder of UK system builder Compusys that was bought by Stone Computers nearly two years ago is preparing to leave the firm and take a break from the industry after 21 years in the channel.

In November 2006, Compusys was sold to fellow UK PC maker Stone for an undisclosed sum but following a management buy-out earlier this year, Kazerounian decided to rescind his directorship.

“After the MBO I had a choice to stay as a full time director or work as a part time consultant and that consultancy work has been done,” he told Microscope.

James Bird, managing director at the Stone Group, said Kazerounian managed the hand over of Compusys and had since been involved in some inter market component deals, a part of the business that was winding down.

At the same time in an unrelated development, Jamie Russell, sales director at Stone has left the business due to ill health and Colin Capewell, who like his predecessor came from the automotive industry had been put in place.

“Capewell was a dealer principal in the motor trade so he is used to high volume, low margin units,” said Bird.
