IDC has released a piece of research that will come as little
surprise to channel service specialists battling for business with the larger
suppliers.
According to the analyst house more than half of the
European services market last year was dominated by 50 companies that held
53.4% market share.
Those companies specialising in services also continued to
grow at a relatively quick pace, largerly through acquisition, to maintain their
positions in the market. Among those
highlighted by IDC were Logica, Infosys, and Tata Consultancy Services.
"With
few exceptions, acquisition remains the main driver for revenue growth in
2007," said Laura Converso, research manager, European Services Market and
Competitive Insights.
She added
that offshore vendors were accounting for more of the market “thanks to
increasing acceptance in key European geographies”.
