Citrix has assured UK distributors that it does not plan to make changes to the UK channel following a restructure in the US that has seen all distributors bar Ingram Micro cut from the fold.
The shake-up on the other side of the Atlantic means 1,900 Citrix resellers will be forced to buy through the broadline giant.
But in a statement sent to Microscope, Kevin Bland, UK director for channel sales at Citrix, said “we have no current plans to change anything in the UK and remain very happy with our current partnerships.”
He added the vendor was aware of the “value” that distributors delivered to resellers and insisted the channel was a “crucial part of Citrix’s success and we continue to develop and strengthen our channel presence”.
This message has obviously filtered through to UK distributors which include Computerlinks, ETC, Interchange, DNS and IQ-Sys.
“We have spoken to Citrix and been reassured that it is not happening here. The US is arranged very differently to the UK, it is a much more direct model. I feel comfortable that’s the case,” said David Caughtry, product manager at Computerlinks.
