Comstor sees Cisco sales boost

Comstor, the Cisco-focused arm of networking and security distributor Westcon, has reported successes in its Cisco Mentor Programme.

The programme, which Comstor set up in 2007 in an attempt to help its resellers ramp up their Cisco business, provides business development plans and tailored sales support and has so far helped 18 partners establish new Cisco sales standards.

Comstor claimed that in some cases, dealers had seen a 100 per cent year-on-year increase in their Cisco business.

Comstor marketing director Warwick Taylor said the programme had focused primarily on SMB Select partners that showed potential for growth within the Cisco channel, and had no plans to add higher tier dealers to the mix, saying they generally had enough resources in place.

Block Solutions managing director Jonathan Pickering believed participation in the programme had helped establish his business on Cisco’s radar.

“Our partnership has led to accreditation, training, services support and excellent account management,” he added.
