Ingram Micro has plumped for the former restructuring
supremo at airline catering outfit Gate Gourmet, Paul Lilley, as its new EMEA CFO.
Lilley joined Gate Gourmet in 2004 as executive vice
president and chief restructuring officer and hit the headlines in 2005 after a
round of 350 redundancies at the firm’s UK base in Heathrow caused workers
to walk out. The ensuing chaos saw millions wiped off the value of
British Airways stocks after it suspended in-flight food service and a sympathy
strike by airport ground staff forced the airline to cancel over 150 flights.
Lilley, who will report to European head honcho Jay Forbes
and takes responsibility for Ingram
Micro EMEA’s finance, credit and treasury functions, will also be a ‘key
contributor’ to the firm’s EMEA strategy, according to Ingram.
