Components distributor Target has launched a new initiative
designed to help independent IT retailers compete more effectively against high
street multiples such as Currys.digital.
The ‘Beat the High Street’ programme highlights products
where resellers can up their margins while still beating high street prices.
“We group together products into one place that … makes it
easier for our customers to identify key opportunities and gain the benefit of
the market expertise and purchasing power our procurement team have developed,”
said managing director Paul Cubbage.
In a separate announcement, the Yorkshire-based distributor
revealed it has signed an exclusive UK distribution
agreement with tier-2 Taiwanese motherboard vendor Biostar.
Target hit the news earlier this month after it bucked a
growing trend to charge dealer customers for freight by eliminating all
delivery charges on orders over a certain value.
