In a move that plays to both its Web 2.0 and its intuitive
technology focuses, emerging-tech distributor VADition has added zip file
solutions and data-centric security provider PKWARE to its vendor line-up.
VADition business development director Barrie Desmond said
that the recent spate of security breaches had been largely down to human error
with data ‘at rest’ on a physical form factor. PKWARE, on the other hand,
allows businesses to guarantee the security of data in transit, “whether internal,
transactional, or in the form of a temporary key to allow us to retrieve
personal information remotely,” said Desmond.
Desmond explained that PKWARE solutions slotted neatly into
VADition’s two main areas of focus.
“PKWARE is easy to install and distribute, and it also
allows us to share information and communicate very easily. So to our resellers
we’re saying it’s a good way to get involved with PCI and goes long way towards
giving you a data leakage solution,” he said.
Since the arrival of PCI earlier this year there have been
calls in the channel for more assistance understanding the security standard
with some admitting that confusion persists.
