Insight Enterprises has splashed out $1.5m (£758,000) in cash on Hertfordshire-based Cisco Gold partner MINX in a deal that will also include the assumption of a $4.6m debt.

An additional $700,000 could be added to the bill if network integrator MINX can achieve certain sales targets over a one year period.

“MINX’s expertise in the design, installation and management of network infrastructure solutions is a strategic fit to our value proposition,” said Stuart Fenton, EMEA president at Insight in a statement.

Insight plans to fold MINX into Insight Direct to form the Insight Networking Solutions team, selling, implementing and managing infrastructures.

John Pepper, managing director at MINX will lead the networking divisions at Insight , reporting to Angelo Di-Ventura, managing director and senior vice president of Insight UK.

In a statement, Pepper said it had found a company in Insight that shared a “similar culture and vision” to his organisation.

Founded in July 2002, MINX employs around 40 staff and was projected to hit revenues of £18m this year.
