The public sector will get a much-needed leg up when it comes to buying mobility services after OGCbuying.solutions launched a £170m mobile services solutions framework today.

The framework has been split into three separate lots; mobile voice and data, wide-area paging and messaging and bespoke mobile solutions.

The OGC revealed several key suppliers selected for the scheme, including BT and the four major UK mobile phone providers O2, Orange, T-Mobile and Vodafone.

Buying Solutions mobile solutions project manager Nigel George said the new savings opportunities generated by the framework would "satisfy growing demand for more flexible mobile voice and data services designed to meet the demands of the transformational government agenda."
