Red Hat and Ingres kick off ISV programme

Open source software specialists Red Hat and Ingres have announced plans to collaborate more closely with European ISVs to build enterprise-class business offerings.

The two developers are combining their existing enterprise software solutions to create a more powerful stack that will include Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5, Ingres Database and JBoss Enterprise Middleware.

It is hoped that a more integrated approach will allow ISVs to base applications on a better performing and more cost effective platform, opening up new market opportunities during the recession.

The two firms will also make available their own internal teams and European development centres to assist and advise partners throughout their projects.
