SMC launches free network portal

LAN and broadband hardware vendor SMC Networks has unveiled an online portal to provide certified training that it claims is the only free-of-charge offering on the internet.

Potential students are invited to pick from three different levels of accreditation, ranging from basic network concepts and IP protocols at the lowest tier to network management, policy-based networking and IP routing at the highest, Professional Level.

SMC EMEA general manager Thierry Gonon said training facilities were "somewhat of a premium in terms of time, financial investment and ability", and offering a free to use service would help users and partners address that.

On completion of the course students will gain SMC Networking Graduate certification.
