Oracle has continued to expand its Accelerate programme,
providing support and eco system promotion, to developers targeting vertical
markets.
The vendor has been actively growing its global developer
community and rolled out its latest addition the oil and gas market specialist Inoapps.
Inoapps joins a further 17 partners that have been
accredited as part of the latest wave of the Accelerate programme, bringing the
total of globally developed industry specific bundles now available to 158.
Phil Wilson, consultancy director Inoapps, said that it had
been developing technology for the gas and oil market for years, operating out
of a headquarters in Aberdeen,
but was now in a position to promote Oracle tools to a sector that might have
been slow in taking them up in the past.
Tim North, business development manager at Oracle UK, said that it
would continue to look into expanding the programme and it was being led to a
large degree by the activities of developers.
“If a partner can introduce a market sector and build an
Oracle solution [then there could be an option to develop a package],” he said.
He added that before a solution came to market it had to go
through a multi-layered validation process before it got the go ahead to join
the programme.
