Novell has used its annual BrainShare user conference to make a number of announcements.
The vendor has announced development plans for SUSE Linux Enterprise 11, which will focus on market-leading innovation in the following areas: Mission-critical data centre technologies; UNIX migration; virtualisation; interoperability; green IT; and desktop Linux innovation.
The firm announced it is to deepen its relationship with SAP. They will work together to enable SAP’s enterprise applications to work with SUSE Linux Enterprise and Novell’s virtualisation and identity management technologies to provide new data centre options for customers.
The tie-up with PlateSpin had been announced just before BrainShare but the event was used to showcase joint solutions that can help manage the lifecycle of a data centre.
Finally, Novell said it had approaches from 6,000 customers for identity and security management solutions.
